Matt Searles

After a number of years as a church pastor, Matt has spent the past 10 years in theological training, most recently as head of Biblical Studies at a Bible College. His doctorate is in Biblical Theology, and he loves helping Christians get to know the storyline of the Bible, so as to know Christ and his salvation better.

He has written a Bible Overview Book (‘God’s Story: The Bible Explained’) as well as books of devotions on the Psalms, Isaiah and Matthew’s Gospel. He is also a songwriter and has recorded six albums of Psalms set to music. He lives with his family in Cumbria.

Rachel Redeemed

Rachel has worked in media for eight years spanning both television production (BBC Songs of Praise) and radio presenting for the BBC (Radio 4's Prayer For The Day and Radio 2's Pause For Thought) as well as for Premier Christian Radio. When not hosting live audio rooms for the Christian dating app SALT, or up to mischief on a stage at The Keswick Convention, Rachel is hyped for her work presenting and producing The Bible OverBrew.

Rachel loves living in Kings Cross with her husband, ceroc dancing and bouldering when they get the chance. Rachel also recently qualified with BASI as a ski instructor (did she mention that she has ADHD?)

Fave brew: Something floral and fun

There is great joy and delight and blessing in reading God’s word, and here at The Bible OverBrew we don’t want these questions or the podcast to be a source of guilt or ‘another brick in the backpack’! Rather, we want to be friends alongside who encourage you to grow in your confidence and desire to meditate on God’s word, so that we might know and love him better. A helpful phrase that we repeat to ourselves often is this:

“Reading the Bible isn’t something I’ve got to do,
it’s something I get to do!”
